So I've switched over to the NGE emulators, and I've run across a problem with the Mustafarian bunker. Basically when you place anything against the walls, paintings specifically, they flicker into the walls, like the renderer doesn't know which component to render and which to exclude.

I can fix the problem by disabling the Pixel/Vertex options in the Setup program, but the bunker has this issue with 1.0, 1.4, & 2.0 versions.

The problem is that the floors of star ports and other structures with a high glossy finish start really screwing up, flashing white or taking an ugly green hue. I don't remember having any of the issues on live so it's got to be something that's changed since then. maybe the video card quality and faster systems? *shrug* either way, I'd like to try to resolve it.

I thought I could just remove the specular from all floors and just have dull floors, but that's turned out to be problematic in that I can't seem to isolate the particular specular texture or shader for the star ports. The other option is to fix the musty bunker so that it works properly with the 2.0 vertex program. I think I can use the "simple" vertex and pixel programs, rename them to the 2.0 version, but I'm unsure how to do that for JUST the musty bunker. I guess you'll have to edit the iff files, or sht files, but again, it's been awhile since I've done this type of work so any help you can throw my way would be fantastic.

never mind, I think it was the dual pass renderer that was causing the problem. inconvenient, but not game breaking.

so back to the star port thing, is there anyway to remove the "gloss" or specular effect from the floors?

The only NGE emulator I know of is ProjectSWG, and their project site says they don't have housing implemented. Thus I can only assume you are discussing SOE NGE Leak server, which we don't support and forbid discussion of this as per MtG community policies.

As such, I will be locking this thread, and we encourage players to not discuss anything about that at our community.
