Due to the nature of our tutorials and not everyone being able to read and learn and figure things out I have decided along with Timbab & Sytner that we need to do video tutorials. If you have a request for a certain tutorial please make a list and put it in this thread.

1. How do you add existing structures to your own player made city? I am trying to create my own city on Tatooine and am having a bear of a time doing it. I finally got a shuttle to appear but can not figure out how to get a Capital building to appear.

2. How do you reduce the aggro radius of a mob? I want to revamp parts of the DWB as it is not set up correctly in the CU. The aggro is way way to far for every mob.

3. How do you add a new mob to the game that will attack you if you get into aggro radius? I am guessing adding friendly NPCs would be the same?

4. How do you add a spawn event when an action is taken.

There use to be two battle droids in the DWB that would spawn when you clicked the first door panel as you enter the bunker. Killing them would grant you a key to continue if I recall correctly. Those two droids are missing, as are a few other mobs in there. So learning how to add mobs reduce aggro ranges and adding x happens when you do Y would be a nice video.

Hello guys, I know this thread is very old, but it fits my problem. I found this forum via the swgemu and thought, ok modders are kind of the pros of programming :D. I love this game since day one it came out way back in time, I played basilisk after sony killed it than at awakening. Sadly some guys or esp. one guy "killed" our nice guild and made quite a lot good players live. Me too since so many left and he kind of griefed me and my jedi out of the game too. Since I got 2 little kids now, I have not the time to start over from scratch at another server and invest so many hours to build up my crafter and my jedi again. So I thought I make my own server and play just for the feeling, if you know what I mean. I miss the life game and all the cool stories back in the days, I will never forget the force sensitive message after 1,5 years trying everthing to get it and than 9 weeks nonstop grinding 31 professions and so on. ok sorry I was lost in the past right now ha ha ha (and sorry for my english, its not my first language.

I was able to set up my own server....after trying for hours. than I played some hours and it was fun, I was setting up my own town and so on. Than the next day, I could not start the server and game again, I did not find the interface or could not redo my steps, I dont know why and I am totally lost. I tried it from the start, but its not working ether and now I am totally frustrated.
Can someone make a vid of setting up a server please? Or maybe somebody already did?

Thank you!

Open a terminal:

* Interface if ZonamaDev:

cd ZonamaDev/fasttrack/scripts
sudo ./rc.fasttrack

* and build the server from zero:

cd /home/vagrant/workspace/MMOCoreORB
make clean
make config
make idl
make build

I remember I had an interface were I can watch the server starting and so on, but I can not find this window anymore. I start zonamadev its working (did not work at the beginnen becauce wrong cpus were in it)...but now I dont know were to find the other interface were I can start the server itself (I hope its still there).

thx. I tried, fasttrack success stands there. but in the webbrowser its 127.0.0.1:44480 or 127.0.0.1:44453 since the copypaste windows tells me 53, both does not work. "this side cant be reached. refused to connect"

port 44453 is the game interface that is what the client connects too on the server. Port 44480 is the port configured for the YODA web interface to manage the server. While the interface is useful and I enjoy using it, you can actually run the server without it... the easiest way is to open up a terminal window and type swgemu start

As @gyrantol gyrantol said, in a terminal window typing just
swgemu
Will show you options, some of which are
build
start
status

Good luck

That's because you're not using local connection [127.0.0.1] . Try to use your PublicIP:44480

I am sorry but that probably isn't the case.. I use a public ip all the time.. a 127.0.0.1 is a loop back ip which will loop around the virtual adapter (no matter what type of ip is used)

You most likely need the Visual C++ Libraries, I can't remember off the top of my had which ones SIE uses but it's a slightly off the wal version IIRC.
I'll see if I can dig out the info for you.
