I'm looking for alternative map maker. If you guys can give me some hint's what to look for.

No need to tell me for the syth dude tool. Because he will never release it and probably re-write it 100x in next 10 years :).

There is none. This sounds like a perfect opportunity to work on your patience. ;)

If you're really bored and want to waste a LOAD of time...

Use Uli's free camera mod (never used it, so not even sure if it'll work), go high in the camera and screenshot the whole map, then stitch it together (use some script).

Won't be perfect, but there ain't really another way. Or just ask Syt really nicely for high res screenshots of the maps. :p

He did post some here though: http://feed38.photobucket.com/albums/e122/Sytner/account.rss

I think he meant trn editor instead of a different planetary map.

Ah, confused it with someone else then, because someone, back in June or something, was looking for a way to make new high res maps of all the planets.

Yeah that is the impression I got too. The best option is to just keep up the patience and support Sytner until he is ready or willing to release something.

Staying patient is quite easy actually. You just take comfort in the fact that Valky is much more desperate for this than you are. It makes it easy. :p

It wouldn't surprise me if Valky gets sick of waiting again and has another crack at writing her own editor. You could keep an eye out for that hah. xD

This is correct and sry for misunderstand. English is not my primary talk. We are in talk with 2 potential coders to make such building tool (from documents obtained here on forums).

"If" we get it going, that i cannot say at all.

I got more patience then you will ever have (talking from personal exp.), but that is not the issue. The issue is endless re-writing and "talking" (from 2008).

This comes with the territory. Every coder will inevitably change their ideas as they go along or come up with a more efficient way of doing something which can often mean rebuilding it from the ground up.

Look at SWGEmu. Would you rather have what they've achieved so far or would you prefer playing core 1? I know for a fact if they hadn't rewritten things a dozen times 90% of us wouldn't be hanging around like this.

My desperation far surpasses yours mister! :p
Oh that is something none of us will ever doubt. :p

Don't worry, it wasn't your English, I just had the wrong thing in my head and connected it with someone else, leading me to draw the wrong conclusion!

So, my bad, sorry!

Haha, might see an editor before the next HL. Well edits can be made by hand( or the server) but are pretty tedious. Issue with the editor is the interface and the effect of each affector. Interesting that the format is so much better understood now. I remember years ago getting ahold of the trn patent and being excited. Progress is slow but there.
