Need help finding 3d files to convert to .stl files

I am trying to find the physical 3d files from the TRE folders and convert them to .stl files. How do I do this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mooshi, sorry no one responded to your post. I've been working with this lately. In SIE editor you just need to look for any of the .mgn/.msh files and extract those. Then there is a 3D@ script, and I think a blender? here on modthegalaxy that you can download and run in the 3d software. You can export your new mesh or amended mesh back into .msh/.mgn format with the same scripts. Just keep in mind these scripts don't reattach .mgn's back to their skeleton/animations therefore it's not entirely possible yet to make additions to .mgns. >msh a.k.a static type meshes can though.

I think I got that all right. I've been messing around lately with 3d modeling myself and have just made some client-side changes.

There's a few other programs that can open SWG model formats also, such as Ultimate Unwrap 3D (although it's paid software).

Also the people on swgsource got ahold of the source for the original Maya 7 plugin used by the SWG developers to make SWG. However they have not yet been able to get it working, and not many people have even attempted to compile it.

I wonder if anyone here would have the experience to reverse engineer it and get it working?

I am actually trying to extract the 3d model files and also the uv maps. I need the 3d models more than anything.

It works, but please, no discussion of illegally obtained src code on this forum.

Illegally obtained source code? I have my original boxed software of Star Wars Galaxies! I did use to play 15 accounts monthly on live! I bought Ultimate Unwrap PRO today and figured it out after a bit. I got objects to load into the Unity engine for my Oculus Rift VR setup. Using a few other tools but on the way! Anyone for SWGEMU VR?

I own Ultimate Unwrap 3D but cant figure our how to open a .msh file with it. Anyone provide guidance?
