Well lucky for me I don't use 3DS Max. ;)

I did some work baking textures in Cinema 4D quite a while back, several versions ago at least. If the recent builds haven't changed too much since then I should be able to come up with something decent whenever I get around to messing with it.

On another note do you know where the data for light-emitting entities is stored? I would like to give SWG some better lighting.

At some point I did mess with lighting to some degree but without the files to look at right now I'm not sure. I think there may be a datatable with some relevance to lighting, that is all that springs to mind right now though and I could be wrong so don't pull your hair out looking through all the datatables. :p

I'm sure someone else around here can elaborate more in this area.

Wish I had the time right now to work on it, I just don't, soon hopefully but things are pretty filled up for me atm.

Looking forward to seeing a release. A graphics overhaul is something they should have done to SWG years ago instead of NGE, to bring the game up to date, like almost every other older MMO had already done.

It will be interesting to see if it slows the game down at all. Even now with a high end PC, we are lucky to get a constant 60fps.

Pity the ENB series won't work with SWG.

A beta version of the ENB for "GTA San Andreas" seems to work for all incarnations of SWG - can be found here:
http://enbdev.com/mod_gtasa_v0074h10.htm

I included my ENB and edited .ini as an attachment.

It's a shame though - I turned on shadows, and it made all the shadows so smooth and pretty (like they should be)....on 1/4 of my screen. So whatever's going on there - it appears, it's possible to get the shadows looking good, if there was an ENB written specifically for the SWG client. If anyone bothers to take that on - please let me know.

I've been working on stuff for SWG again lately. Only thing is, after a windows update last night, TRE Explorer no longer works for me. It gives a .NET Framework error message every time, with the option to quit or continue. If I continue, I can get the TRE functionality to work, but the built in HEX editor is a no-go. Unfortunately, this is what I need the most. You guys know any alternative? I've tried other hex editors online, but when I edit the .sht files from those, the game crashes. So frustrating! I've been at this for hours, tried every version of .net it seems, nothing works.

Nothing, been too busy with other stuff, I'm sure Tonberry can say the same.

I can indeed. Would love to get back into it at some point in the next couple of months but no guarantees at present.

Me too, that's why I've been doing prep work with trying to eliminate the 'hex editing' aspect of it all, getting more documentation, etc.

The whole process in an overall aspect will go a lot smoother that way.

Got a lot of personal stuff this year though, so we'll see if I end up having time to texture and maybe model.

Followers of the mod will be happy to know my curiosity got the better of me after checking up on the emu scene. I reinstalled SWGEmu last week and have been playing my character on Basilisk for the past few days in my free time. Suffice to say it wasn't long until my burning desire to mod got out of control again. :p

Anyway I'm very rusty but I'm back into modding and continuing with the project. I'm taking baby steps at the moment and mainly focusing on some more miscellaneous aspects like finishing off the loading screens and various other minor changes. I'll be getting back into the planet overhauls once I'm confident I've jumpstarted my memory. I'm still having those moments where I'm completely confused over something incredibly simple, then even more confused on how I managed to forget something so simple in the first place. It's all coming back to me, slowly but surely...

If any of you still hang around on IRC I might pop in at some point.

Haha nice to hear from you. Its funny quite a few familiar names have started popping up since I got back.

I actually had an alt on Bloodfin back in the day so I'll probably check it out at some point. Always nice to see what custom stuff people add. :)
