I. INTRODUCTION
========================================================================

The intention of this mod is to improve the graphical effects of SWG,
and fix the gamma for borderless fullscreen window without altering the
original style too much.

RESHADE FEATURES
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
+ HDR.
+ Bloom.
+ Lensflare.
+ Godrays.
+ Ambient Occulsion.
+ SMAA.
+ Adaptive Sharpen.
+ Colour Matrix.
+ Lift Gamma Gain.
+ Tonemap.
+ Vibrance.
+ Curves.
+ Dither.
+ Gaussian Blur.

========================================================================
II. INSTALLATION
========================================================================

Just extract the .7z to your SWGEmu folder.

Note  This mod will put folders with some files in the game directory
that will be used by the game. No actual SWG game files will be
overwritten.

========================================================================
III. UNINSTALLATION
========================================================================

To uninstall the mod:
Remove Reshade folder, d3d9.dll, ReShade.fx, Sweet.fx

========================================================================
IV. VERSION HISTORY
========================================================================

0.7 - Initial public re-release.
- Removed deband (tatooine sand lost detail).
0.8
+ Changed SSAO to HBAO for improved effects.
- Disabled Levels and DPX
+ Tweaked other settings to counter disabled options.
0.9
+ Updated .dll to fix issues with certain shaders.
+ Added Gaussian Blur, Adaptive Sharpen and tweaked variou settings.
0.95
+ Upgraded video card (GTX 1080), so have made numerous tweaks to various
settings due to slight differences in how it looks on my new hardware.
+ Changes to HDR, contrast, brightness, HBAO settings.

========================================================================
V. KNOWN ISSUES
========================================================================

- SWG may take a couple seconds longer to start due to compiling effects
- 3D objects in your toolbar will disable AO.
- AO causes the GUI to become semi-transparent. You can turn your
UI opacity slider turned up to counter most of it.

========================================================================
VI. MISCELLANEOUS
========================================================================

- A reminder, this is designed for fullscreen-windowed mode, in which
the in-game brightness/contrast/gamma sliders are disabled and the game
would normally appear washed out. Results vary depennding on your \
desktop colour settings, graphics and display hardware.
The settings are quite easy to tweak, and I would recommend making your
own adjustments if you find something too light/dark, or wish to tweak
performance. I do not plan on making different versions for every
different hardware configuration from every user, primarily as I made
this for myself, also I cannot see how it looks to you, and every person
has a different opinion of what they like.

Hope you enjoy the Mod.

-Anach

and do a "full scan" from the launcher.

RE: [Reshade] Anach's Reshade preset.

This is bugging me much! Everytime I use my mouse scroll wheel the shadows disappear?????

I use scroll wheel to switch between my hotbar skills... please help, also this makes the planetary maps transparent?

Sorry didn't get a notification that there was a reply. Did you check the known issues? The extra shadows are Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) and having 3D objects in your toolbar will disable them. It will also make the UI backgrounds semi-transparent, so make sure your opacity slider in interface settings is all the way up. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about this. If it bothers you, you can disable the SSAO in the McFX.cfg.

Updated a new version.

Looks nice , but makes the game way too dark. I had to almost max out my brightness settings. But then that makes the sky too bright. Uninstalled

RE: [Reshade] Anach's SWG Reshade preset 0.9 (Nov 10 2016)

I don't really have time to mess with the settings too much to figure it all out, but if you could release another version with the bloom/lens flare/god rays turned down...something that's about halfway between what it's is now, and original SWG's appearance, would be great. Not to be that guy; but even JJ Abrams might think this is a bit much. Other than that it's a great start, to getting SWG looking a bit more up to date.

I'm not sure what you are seeing, as those settings on my screen are quite subtle, except maybe the brightness when looking directly at the twin suns on Tat. I have an Nvidia card, so it could look different on an AMD. Show me what you're seeing.

I'm open to tweaking settings if I find I agree with the issues, but I'm not making separate versions, as all settings are easily tweakable by the user and I made this primarily for myself.

If you read the readme, I state that it's designed for use in windowed mode, because windowed mode disables the in-game brightness and runs off desktop settings, usually making the game far too bright (At least for me). I don't run my games fullscreen, as I prefer to be able to access my desktop easily.

All settings are tweakable, and most can be found in the SweetFX.cfg.

Although I have been tweaking things a little, and will upload a new revision soon, as since upgrading from a  780 to a 1080, there have been a few differences in brightness, contras and HBAO. It may or may not be an improvement, depending on your hardware, desktop settings and driver version. Really, things can change considerably from system to system, so it's well worth the time to make some cfg tweaks yourself to get the perfect look from your own perspective.

Im having huge lag with this installed, and same with using the normal textures. I get 12-40 fps, and I have a good laptop (gtx 980m, 16gb ram, i7 4910hq) Newer mmos run excellent on this laptop but SWG a 2003 game lags like crazy.

When I disable shadows I get 60 capped.

Hey there, love the reshade, only one thing I'd like to change. Where in the .cfg file should I look to try and reduce the the glare effect around the UI windows?

Btw, I did actually go through the .cfg file and messed around a bit. Lot's of really cool things to tweak. I opted for changing to a very dark black UI theme which has resolved much the transparency with backgrounds. However, the fonts still seem like they have a glow or glare to them.

like this is so many years later but i'm tinkering with this mod and i discovered that if you turn off "enable bloom" in the in game options menu (the one that was always annoying anyway on live) it cleans up the in game text, like a LOT.
