Hello everyone!

So since my last bit of news was wishing everyone a happy new year I thought I should post a little update so that you know I'm still here, keeping the fire burning :)

New Forum
We now have a requests forum so people can... well... request a mod! So if you want a modification to your client but don't know how to go about it, pop in and request it and hopefully someone will take a fancy to your request and make it happen :D

Therefore, if you're bored and want something to work on then take a look inside the forum and try and make someone's dream a reality ;)

I must also thank MtG user Sumane for the suggestion because it's a good one and I'm stunned I didn't think of it earlier! So thanks Sumane :D

Hexbox
There's also a new simple but effective addition to the forums of the hexbox. This box displays hex in a well formatted manner to make it easier to post contents of the SWG files! I'm hoping this will make the File Types Discussion forum a little bit more effective and I want to try and promote more discussion in there. There's still a lot of files with missing information and I think with a team effort we can figure it all out!

It's quite simple to use, here's an example:

Code:
[hex]4d6f64007468650047616c61787900697300617765736f6d6521[/hex]
which displays as:
[hex]4d6f64007468650047616c61787900697300617765736f6d6521[/hex]

you can also add a title like so:
Code:
[hex=MtG!]4d6f64007468650047616c61787900697300617765736f6d6521[/hex]

Downloads Section
The downloads section still isn't being used, quite soon I'm going to manually upload mods from the forums to the downloads section, the download will be assigned to the user that posted it in the forum so they will be able to edit it themselves and of course receive the appropriate credit.

I would urge everyone to please post any future mods in the downloads section in addition to making a post about it, if only for there to be a backup/alternative mirror to download the files from. It's very simple and only takes a couple of minutes (especially if you've already written a description for your forum post).

Round Up
Well that's about it for this update, it's not much but I'm currently working on a few different projects that I hope to have finished in the near future so watch out for those!

Happy Modding!

Awesomeness!

About the download section, will it link directly to the original mod topic or do we have to do it manually?

Do we also need to remove our third party host links?

Questions questions questions. :D

Unfortunately you'll have to do it manually, I have been looking at finding a way so that when you upload something to the downloads section it automatically makes a forum post on your behalf, however my skills in PHP are severely lacking so it's not something that will happen particularly soon :)

And no, third party links are absolutely fine (assuming they don't lead to uber hax and warez etc. :D)

Alright then, yeah that would be a good addition, until then I'll upload the mods to the DL section.

No probs on the suggestion, I have a lot of hope in the client development team and hopefully you guys can bring SWG into the 21st century with some nice mods :) This game has awesome mechanics, just a shame the graphics are 10 years old now :(

Anyways ill be checking here regularly so keep up the good work :D

That's the spirit. :D

@Davin, I uploaded two mods, I'll have to upload the GUI mods later though because of the 25MB limit (I compressed them to 27Mb damnit), I'll have to convert the screenshots to a lossy jpeg I guess.

Just found this site; glad to see there's an active community planning for modding and content improvements for SWGemu. I might even find the time to contribute once I'm up to speed.
