The following release will be reposted as a final version in the releases forum on 22nd July. If you use this beta please report any issues you find to ensure they are fixed before the full release. Patches after the mods full release are unlikely.

Modification Overview:

The UJM or Ultimate Jedi Mod is essentially the only modification a Jedi player needs to enhance the enjoyment of the gameplay their profession provides. The modification is in some ways a compilation of past mods relating to Jedi, although each and every aspect which has been taken or based on other mods has been vastly improved and built upon. Most of the mod is graphical improvements. Almost all of the new textures are 4X the original size, with far more detail. New sounds for lightsabers and force powers are also included as well as some other minor changes to improve gameplay. The mod also includes my original lightsaber improvements, combined with Valkyra's trails mod to provide the perfect look.

I. MODIFICATION OVERVIEW

The UJM or Ultimate Jedi Mod is essentially the only modification a Jedi player needs to enhance the enjoyment of the gameplay their profession provides. II. INSTALLATION

Simply run the UJM.exe file and guide the installer to your SWGEmu directory. E.G. C:\SWGEmu or wherever yours is.

III. UNINSTALLATION

I did attempt to include an uninstaller with this mod, but sadly after multiple different attempts I couldn't get a correctly functional one and do not have the time to continue researching alternative methods. Therefore to uninstall simply delete the appearence, palette, sample, shader and texture folders from your SWGEmu directory. Obviously this may damage any other mods you have installed.

If you wish to just disable the new robes then simply delete the appearence folder. Or the robe.sat files within the appearence folder if you wish to perserve other mods.

IV. KNOWN ISSUES

The transparent areas of the lightsaber blade textures will appear to be washed out and visible in certain areas and environments if you have bloom enabled. It is strongly recommended you disable bloom to get the most out of this mod. It will also increase performence.

New robes have a slight clipping problem. Do not report this, I am aware of it and there is no real fix at this time. The neck of the robe will often have a slight see through gap. In addition when running the under robe's skirt will clip through the cloak slightly. This is only really noticable on the light robe.

Wow, looks really awesome, now just gotta find some jedis to see it in action on.

Also could you make the saber trails optional? I was never a huge fan of that mod, made them way too long and distracted me.

Its not Valky's original trail mod, its her updated one. By too long I assume you haven't tried her updated version, they're no where near as long and the bugs are worked out.

If you still don't like them then delete: appearence/sw_light_saber_white.swh

Problem solved. ;)

It's about time, I was starting to get worried. ;)

From what I can see it seems you used a texturizer filter or something similar to create that sort of cotton material for the Robes along with some other stuff to enhance the end result at higher resolution.


What's wrong with the uninstaller? It's pretty easy to do really, probably your script is a mess with all those custom windows and pretty pictures. :p


EDIT: I know that login background, Phoenix was experimenting on it a few weeks ago when we were talking about loading screens on IRC lol.

Okay from what I could test, it seems there is another clipping issue, but this time it isn't just the neck, it's the whole head. :O

Now the problem, the player next to me is a Zabrak, I don't know if it's related.

Also, it seems all the Robes are the same for Light or Dark, meaning there is only one Light and Dark robe type for both sides, but now that I think about it it's probably meant to be this way lol.


Nice stuff though, incorporating the Cloaks over Robes mod gives a new feel, especially since those two Cloaks aren't PreCU.





EDIT: Seems you can't double post anymore, the posts are merged together, I guess it's better this way.




EDIT 2: I like the new blades, they look smoother.

Maximus is Valk I think right?

No filters or plugins, no need if you know how the mechanics of photoshop work. I just relied on one technique I'd figured out over my years of using photoshop to upscale the texture, although it was a quick and basic one which is only viable on certain materials, of course for this kind of thing I knew it'd be acceptible. I was going to do a tutorial on upscaling textures when I have time so I'll elaborate more if I get around to that. ;)

The weave detail was added through a couple of blending and adjustment layers. I'm happy with it in terms of my work, just a shame the UV stretches it in places, spoils the effect, mainly on the cloaks.

Yup, intended to be like that. I believe its stated in the features list. ;)

I didn't have time to make anything have variations. Even if I did it'd just be light robe variations, the Sith/DJ usually all have the same look and I kinda prefer it that way too, conforming and everything.

Yeah, I don't actually like those cloaks, but I was surprised how well the texture seemed to have been done, expecting a quick job from SOE. I had to improve it a bit of course, but there's nothing in this mod I haven't improved on, or at least upscaled.

Strange indeed. If any problems were reported I expected it to be with mon calamari. I haven't had time to test everything myself, hence the beta, but I can pretty much guarantee they'll have some serious clipping issues without even trying it myself, that's just a lack of catering for species on my part though, besides I don't see many mon cal Jedi anyway. :p

Anyway if thats a zabrak then I have no idea. I tested Zabrak, or males at least and found no issues, as one of my screenshot prove. Mon Cal and Twi'lek were my assumed complaints, I really have no idea what'd be causing the whole head to vanish or why I haven't encountered that yet. I expected heads and lekku's to be popping out of the hood, but a missing head? That ones new. :p

Yeah, I didn't even know an updated version of the saber trails mod existed. Will have to check it out =p

Also, how do you choose between the different hilts?

Its not implemented server-side at the moment. You're meant to be able to select a hilt in the crafting stage. At the moment the only way would be to replace the anakin saber IFF with whichever you want. (anakins is default)

Just thought i'd include a pic of all the possibilities with their new textures.

They have been in the past and whenever the developers decide to enable them this mod will work just fine. This is excluding the items such as various robes and lightsaber models which will probably not be obtainable in-game until the launch of 1.0.

Is there a way to get the sabers part of this mod only? I do not care for the robes but would love to have the sabers and blades because my server has Jedi available via hologrind.

Get the Lite edition of the mod here. It includes everything but the new robes. If there are more than just the robes you don't want such as improved force powers and trails you'll have to go through the folders and delete them manually based on their file names.

Does this not work for wookies? I notice a saber difference, the robe looks different in inventory but when i equip the robe it goes back to the old robe.

There should be an appearance datatable. Check it to verify what appearance it has set for wookies.
