So I ran into an issue the other day, and I didn't even realize it was an issue until I blundered right into it. Credit links are like a huge important thing to me to make sure authors get credit for their works. Lots of links come back to mod the galaxy, as a lot of authors put their works up here.

Here's the issue; Xenoforo is awesome forum software. It is, not gonna lie in several areas I am flat out jealous, but not this one. The URL re-writes are killing credit links.

I see a couple of options that could help, like not allowing subject changes in threads or possibly turning off the URL re-write all together. However, if an author updates the forum thread title today, that link back becomes invalid. If you weren't aware of it, there it is. If you were just ignore me.

That's for the feedback, good to see you still being around, checked your site recently and it was off, was worried you were gone.

There def is some work that needs to be done, especially with the links, the upgrading bricked all of them, including internal ones, unsure how easy or realistic it is to restore the old titles, but that's a good point about the changing url's of the current threads, wasn't aware of this. I need to tackle the internal links on our forum at least and this among other things at some point, it's just been so low priority next to everything, I apologize for that.

Thanks for the reminder though, it really needs to be tackled soon.

That's a valid concern like Timbab said, since I know Shadow you like to re-link to MTG for certain mods whenever possible other than re-hosting.

Since we are discussing the website, I had been having an issue with staying logged in despite 2FA not triggering on any consequential login (as in I just had to hit the login button to get back without inputting in any information.)

But, I think my issues were either fixed when Sytner had to contact the webhost to fix the security modules, or I was having a cookie issue which I was for a couple other websites and I recently had to reinstall Windows.

Since Sytner is too lazy to post, seems like thread url's are based off the ID, not the name, so for example on this thread:

https://modthegalaxy.com/index.php?threads/website-feedback-links-example-change.1175/

https://modthegalaxy.com/index.php?threads/tits-r-us.1175/

Will redirect to the same thread.

Or did I misunderstand the issue? I'll try and fix all the internal links that are linking to the old format soonTM or alge should do it since that's his gig, damn lazy aus bastid.

Can't comment on the 2FA thing, that's his host stuff as we all know.

2FA is a pain but it's slightly less than trivial to turn it off so I haven't got around to it :p

Site domain lapsed and I wasn't paying attention. They kind of held me hostage with my payment because of some "off" invoice from like 8 years ago. Really pissed me off. I went to update the SSL cert and saw my account was suspended, I was like wtf?!? Got that sucker up as soon as possible. Also if you didn't know I am a Dev for SWGReckoning. not going anywhere.
