Not really playing anything atm lol
For some reason I just pictured you sitting in the corner of a dark room just waiting... Longing for Sytner's editor to come. :p
You might be correct on that one ;)

@Berry

Yeah I've always liked the Elixir builds because you could go full firearms with them and not feel too weak (Engineer being the least played class in GW2), it's not that Engineer is weak in itself, it's that it has so many elixirs, gadgets and weapon/tool kits, that most people just can't be bothered and go straight for warrior or guardian, with their freaking AoE tornadoes, no offense Uli :D.

I've been playing structured PVP again, even if I thought it was pointless before, it being a whole different world with basically free gear, weapons and traits respec, you couldn't bring your actual build/gear/weapons that you used in PVE to compete like in WvW, but as it turns out, it was A LOT of fun, and I got better at it, I finally know the true Engineer's worth.

I like the dungeons, even if you think they are poorly designed, well not all of them are, some of them are full of corridors filled with very bad creatures that want to eat you and will if you're not careful, like the Ascalon Catacombs, god what a mess that was, and with the group I was in, we spent 2 hours trying to get to the next part, we were clearly out of sync.

The other dungeon I've tried, the Crucible of Eternity, is pure madness, it's I think the second if not the first hardest dungeon in the game, and if you think getting to the end is hard then wait for the end boss, if you don't know how to dodge effectively you're screwed. I died so many times because I wasn't ready, if I had known I would've gone for an endurance build with the last tree, so I would've been able to dodge the bastard's attacks, I mean I'm not guardian, I can't take all those rocks in my face without giving a crap, anyways it was fun in the end, you live and you learn as they say.

@Uli

I wish I could join your server when I'm in overflow, there is no way in this game to know which server you end up on when your server is full, it's so terrible.

Did you get your legendary yet? I can't be bothered, after all it's just a unique skin with footprints and unique effects and... okay I wish I had one, but the material gathering is insane, and as soon as I have some actual gold pieces, I spend them on crap. -_-

When I get rich, then I'm poor, then I go old school farming with my magic find gear, and as soon as I get my money back, I'm poor, I can't resist buying stuff on the trading post.

Anyways, I don't know about you but the Lost Shore event disappointed me, I did everything from the start to end, jumping puzzles too, but the last event, just like the first, was so laggy I couldn't bear it anymore so I just stood at a random outpost and did something else, I mean 30 seconds to 1 minute chat and skill delay, it reminded me of SWGEmu, then I saw that those who stayed to the end got rare and exotic stuff, and even precursor weapons that I could have sold for hundreds of gold and be rich for a long time, well, I got mad! I haven't bothered checking out Lost Shores yet but you probably need a system upgrade if you were lagging. :p GW2 is one of the best optimized games I've ever played. From launch to the day I stopped playing I never saw any slowdown, even in hectic WvW situations with countless people and particles left right and center. That's with everything maxed out too and a few things forced higher in nvidia.

All in all when you can get into a huge WvW battle or boss event and not drop under 80fps on max settings it's quite impressive. As for chat lag, you may not have been around for it at the time but in SWTOR I once had 40 minute chat delay. That was pretty hilarious in warzones, calling out enemy movements from like 3 warzones previous. ^^

What the hell are you guys doing anyway? Planetside 2 is out, that's what you should be doing! xD

Huh, Berry, you must be tired because I did talk about chat and skill delay, how it reminded me of SWGEmu... you know, server lag?
The first and last events were the worst, the massive lag spikes where time suddenly stops and then everything starts moving again and somehow, you're lying on the ground, dead, that's not fun for me so screw it. And this happened on 90% of the servers and a countless amount of people got disconnected toward the end or right before finishing off the end boss and couldn't log back, when they did log back, no chest for them, no reward lol. That's what you get for your dedication, I don't regret being AFK at the time. Anet need to get their priorities straight.

Now let's talk about computers, and system upgrades, I probably need one yeah but Guild Wars 2 shouldn't be the game to make me desperately need the upgrade. I don't know what your computer is so I'll assume it's a freaking kickass computer because if you say you can keep 80fps, EIGHTY, while in boss battles with dozens of people spamming their disgusting AoE particles, then yeah your computer is either HAL9000 or the game got very very demanding since you stopped playing.

To tell you the truth the big battles are a nightmare right now, 11-20 fps depending on how much sh!t is happening on screen, lowering everything to minimum doesn't change a thing, so yeah, the optimizations you talked about are a thing of the past, just like SWTOR they managed to make the game more demanding without increasing anything.
It's like a bad console port right now, I know my PC is outdated now but when you lower everything and nothing changes then there is a massive problem on their part, unless they want me to superclock my CPU/GPU/RAM... so I can kill my computer even faster.

It's funny because when I'm exploring I have my locked 60fps, anymore is useless I don't even know why you bothered to be honest. Also forcing anything in the NVIDIA control panel is pointless, only thing that really works is anisotropic filtering which looks better than their in-engine filtering, but no AA, forcing highest rendering on textures is pointless too if you use FXAA or that stupid Post processing that blooms and blurs the whole screen and makes the world look like Alice in Wonderland, on LSD.

The only sane thing to do is disable the hideous FXAA ingame and put ingame Supersampling on if you can handle it, I thought I could, but in big areas such as forests filled with little flora and trees, only a third of my framerate was left, so I put it back on Native, eh it's good enough for now.

And the LOD in this game is SHIT, and so is the probably hardcoded player popup distance, when their servers are lagging it's even worse, you think you're alone in the area and all of the sudden you have a massive popup party and POOF, 40 players in the area, all in like 3 seconds.

I don't know about Planetside, only the name, but it kinda looks like a generic futuristic first person shooter, and I've played plenty already so I'll just wait for feedback on that.

My computer struggled with GW2 a little during the earlier portion of beta before they added SLI support, but as soon as SLI worked properly it started flying. Then they made more optimizations just before and after launch which just made it even smoother. First time I hopped into WvW on launch day I just looked at all the particles in this huge battle we ended up in and thought damn.. how the hell am I get 60+ fps. xD Then I went to Queensdale and there were people whining about poor optimization.

Planetside 2 on the other hand I'd bet is the most demanding game out there atm in terms of specs. My CPU is the bottleneck according to the in-game monitor though. I'm running it maxed out but if I set it to the low preset then I'm lucky to even gain 10 frames. It's usually between 30 - 50fps in average to large scale battles but it's dropped under 20 in some of the seriously huge fights.

It is a shooter, but it's wrapped in an MMO shell like the original. I can't think of any shooter MMOs that have succeeded since the original but if you look into what it's all about you'll see why it's a big deal. The sheer scale, persistence and the fact that it's impossible to play solo make it so unique. It's nice to have a team game where idiots doing their own thing wont get anywhere. They've done a good job of balancing it all and giving each faction it's own unique feel, really enjoying it so far.

Been playing War Thunder lately, sounds bad, I know, but it's from the makers of IL-2: Wings of Prey. Think World of Tanks, but with better developers, less bullshit and a load more Russians. It's a FTP 'MMO', but has simulator grade flight model.

Most played type is the arcade mode of course, it's pretty fun. If you're even slightly interested in airplanes/flying, check it out, it's free afterall. Currently in beta though, but I got my key right away.

They're adding squads soon, so if any of you decides to play, let me know.

Also tried to get into AC3, but it created zero craving, so I keep avoiding it, lol, I played like 2% so far.

Considering the last flight oriented game I played was probably Ace Combat 2 or something I doubt that's my type of game. :p I don't really see what the big deal with AC3 is either. I have no plans on buying it. Hell I haven't even finished dishonored yet.

I have a lot of assignments due soon so I've not really been gaming much lately, but one I have played a bit recently is Phantasy Star Online 2. It isn't released in english until next year but I got sick of waiting. :p Definitely a blast from the past though, takes me back to the Dreamcast days. An absolute childhood classic.

If any of you played the original PSO you might want to be on the look out for PSO2 getting it's NA and EU release early next year.

It was an amazing game. :p PSO2 feels so nostalgic. It's just a shame the graphics aren't as amazing as they could be for a 2012 game. It's F2P if you didn't know so be sure to check out the NA and EU release next year.

Well War Thunder is pretty arcade in the arcade mode, it's more about tactics and outwitting the enemy really. Kind of 'refreshing take on fps' if that makes sense.

I was really... REALLY into AC years ago. I loved AC1 which a lot of people hated, loved AC2, alternate history, conspiracy deluxe, music and gameplay made the games for me. AC:B and AC:R were terrible in my opinion, so I didn't have much hopes for AC3, especially since it was marketed so desperately as 'MURRICA FUCK YEA!'. Since it released, I thought I'd give it a shot and just can't get myself to play it, lol.

Been hearing negative things though, especially that it's rushed and what not. Insanely buggy/glitchy too, nothing game breaking, it just doesn't give a good vibe.

Think I'll give FC3 a go later, it even has coop. D: Kinda turned into a little school girl when I found out it had coop, even though I had zero interest in playing the game itself based on trailers/videos.

Edit:

Oh yea, check out the new THQ Humble Bundle. Some great games, dirt cheap.

Wow, Phantasy Star Online, I had the episodes 1 and 2 on Gamecube (beat that Valk!), pretty much one of the few games I played on that console, counting Jedi Outcast and Mario Sunshine and others I can't even recall. I remember this game being one of the precursors to online gaming on consoles, I think it was right before I got my first video card (GeForce 4 MX440 LOL) and bought Star Wars Galaxies A freaking Empire freaking Divided, the action RPG back then felt like a big clusterfrak of nonsense to me, my first computer wasn't even worthy of the internet, all I had was the Sims lol.

I knew about PSO2, but it was wayyy too Japanese for me, is it even in English now?

About GW2, you can use SLI you bloody rich English maggot (makes no sense), so no wonder you have the raw power to run this damn game on full at a better framerate than me!

I haven't played GW2 in more than a week, not like it matters since none of you mongrels actually play it, but they added a Total Makeover Kit on the Gem Store, which allows you to basically redo your character's customization from scratch, you can even change gender (ew), when I get the time I'm so gonna farm those NERFED farming areas (thanks Anet... you idiots) to get the gold to buy one, my Asura needs a big overall, I made my Asura the smallest possible when I started, and I can't see my gear properly now lol, and my guns are pretty much mouse toys, I feel so insignificant on battlefields.

I checked Youtube vids on Planetside 2 and it does looks really massive, but the vids I saw sucked, the players were camping interiors waiting to get omgkills on newbs, I couldn't see the vast world outside and the big battles going on, I want to try it but I'll need to check how big the game is before I can download it, need to make room on my second hard drive.

Anyways, about other games, I went crazy when Assassin's Creed III was released and finished it quickly after 35 hours playing it, it's definitely the most polished AC to date, but it doesn't have the same feeling the previous games had, the main character is freaking dull imo compared to the wise Altair and the freaking awesome Ezio, but it definitely gives you a good lesson on Revolutions and how good and bad is just bullshit in the end when both sides pretty much want the same thing and use the same means to reach their goals, on the gameplay side it was really refreshing even if buggy as hell at times, and part of the ending was disappointing in itself.
If you guys play or want to play AC3, you need to play or watch on Youtube the ending of AC3 Liberation (since it's on PS Vita), because it completes AC3's ending, greedy bastards, before getting the full picture I felt robbed with another Mass Effect 3 type ending, but now I can't wait for AC4.

I'm testing FarCry 3 at the moment, and to my big surprise, I can run the freaking game with everything high without lagging O_O, like, 60fps and everything, I thought this game was going to be another massive resource hog but it seems to be optimized to run on most computers, and it still manages to look awesome, is Ubisoft finally getting their stuff together? Time will tell.
Let's wait for Watch Dogs.

And lol, I've been trying to patch SWTOR for two weeks now, just to try the new F2P option which looks like a total piece of garbage with all the restrictions (Paying to hide your helmet or unlock a toolbar? Lol), but the game keeps giving me errors, I think this games hates me as much as I hate it now, if I can be bothered I'll just reinstall from scratch, I mean without my account it's not like I'll be missing anything right... :p)

It was one of those predecessors to online stuff for consoles yeah, and lolol the sims? Really? Pretty sure the first PC game I played was online, which must have been Quake 2, which makes my parents actions questionable since I must've been like 6 years old or something lol.

There's a somewhat minor english patch for the japanese client but that's about it. The EU/NA release is early next year.

And I know I'm using SLI but in the beta they didn't implement that support until near release and I didn't have any issues with one card either. :p I never really got how so many people were complaining about bad FPS. Their computers must've been like 6 years old because ANet did a solid job on the optimization.

SWTOR is a game which focuses heavily on your characters face so it amazes me that they haven't implemented so much as a hairstyle changer. Not that it affects me since my sage and sorc are both twilek lol. Anyway good for Anet, this is something MMOs need so it's nice to see they prioritized it.

The base killing like that tends to happen when you get pushed back too far. It usually doesn't last long because it tends to be immediately followed by the enemy capping the base. I can't remember off the top of my head but the client isn't too big, I'm pretty sure it's under 10gb unless they've released some big patches recently.

I decided to resub just before F2P hit and aside from the disgusting restrictions they put on F2P accounts it seems to be going well for them. I had a few old friends from launch turn up on their 50 chars trying to figure out how to play the game with 2 quickbars. Short answer you can't lol. To be honest they need to HALF the restrictions if they want this to actually be a viable play option. As things are, even "just to experience the story" is off the table, 2 quickbars isn't anywhere near enough for the late game missions. (for most classes anyway)

Yeah keep bragging you rich nerd!
But yeah, it's the best card out there right now I think, until NVIDIA releases the next series.
I'm so far behind. -_-

Tbh you don't visit MTG often enough these days Uli!

@Berry

Well it could be that they messed up the optimizations like Bioware with SWTOR after one of the previous patches when I was still playing, I would get half the framerate pretty much everywhere, I was freaking out thinking my computer was dying all of the sudden, thankfully I checked their forums which is something I rarely do because the community makes me cringe, and I was relieved to know that everyone had the same issue, not even sure if they fixed it by now.

Or it's that somehow GW2 got more demanding since beta, or that my setup was never good enough to run it flawlessly? I doubt the latter, if I put EVERYTHING on the lowest possible setting, I get a very small 5 fps boost in troubling areas such as Lion's Arch, I don't get it.
The problem could come from all the players with their specific customizations, activating skills and whatnot, but why would it happen when those players haven't even popped on my screen yet because of the shitty view distance? Are those players that I can't see, already loaded anyway? That would be retarded.

About SWTOR, both my Smuggler and Inquisitor were Twi'leks, and if I'm not mistaken they have race restrictions for F2P players as well, last I checked you couldn't even pick Twi'lek, what kind of bull is that? Twi'lek is one of the most popular races in Star Wars lore...maybe that's exactly why they removed it, they know that its popularity will force people to pay for it, so evil yet brilliant, don't change a thing EAware, you're doing great!

I saw on the forums that they restricted chat as well lol, the F2P system only allows you to "speak" in general chat once EVERY MINUTE, I could understand that they need to reduce the spam as much as possible but even the 14 days trial for SWG had a restriction of 4-5 minutes and ONLY if you typed too much stuff in chat. Such a great addition, removing the ability to communicate for F2P players, such a great feeling to be cut from others when playing a MMO!

And the best is now, they added this chat restriction to group chat as well :D. It doesn't make any sense because if you spam or insult/hate on others in your group, they can just choose to kick you out and you'll be left with the general chat restriction and you'll have only yourself to blame, but no, you can't even chat in group now, HILARIOUS.

One last thing I saw on the forums (didn't take the time to see all the other retarded restriction), F2P players can't use the sprinting skill that every class gets at low level, that means when you're in a Flashpoint for example, the subscribers have to wait for you to catch up to them, unless they just decide to leave you behind or kick you out if they're assholes, but sometimes you need a full group to get to the end, so either they wait for you or kick you out and put their group back into the Group Finder, I don't know how it makes me feel, is it just stupid or completely stupid?

The F2P option is supposed to make people want to pay for stuff or even subscribe, but from all those bad restrictions, who would actually want to give them money? The F2P option doesn't even sound appealing, and as you said even if you can experience the class storylines and level up to 50, it's a hassle to do lol, I just don't get it.

It's clear now that Bioware has been indoctrinated by the rEApers.

But I still have some (fading) faith left in them, I mean the team who made Mass Effect 3 actually somewhat listened to the community by releasing the Extended Cut after the fiasco that was the ending, it still wasn't the ending we deserved but those clever bastards stayed true to their word, they expanded/explained most of it while keeping their bullcrap artistic integrity -mostly- intact, and since Bioware is part of EA and everything has to go through them first, that means some people at EA actually did the right thing for once! It probably won't happen again but it's nice to see some humanity left in those greedy worms.

And sorry for replying with walls each time, I can't help it, ask Timbab, he knows that pain all too well lol.
