Why does my CRC table always get corrupt?

I am using an NGE CRC table as a base and have added loads of new strings, Trouble is half the time I add a CRC it corrupts something, leaving me with invisible items completely unrelated to what I just edited.

For example, I added a new Draft Schematic to the CRC table today.. Then suddenly all Red Protocol droids went invisible, I then loaded my backup of the CRC table without adding the Draft Schematic.. and the Protocol droids returned.

Im using Sytners IFF editor to edit the table. What am I doing wrong?

Can you tell me what you did exactly so I can try to replicate? What did you add? Which red protocol droid filenames are you talking about? Etc.

In the not released SIE version, I did fix the following CRC Editor issues:
  • Fixed a bug that added duplicates on table Merge.
  • Fixed a bug where empty entries could be added.

I dont remember exactly what I did, but its something long these lines..

I added a CRC like this (It may not have been bicep, but it was a piece to this armor set)
"object/draft_schematic/clothing/shared_clothing_armor_mandalorian_imperial_bicep_l.iff"

Then this mobile was invisible...

"object/mobile/shared_3po_protocol_droid_red.iff"

I reverted my changes, and did the same thing over again, but I added all the armor set CRCs in bulk. This time the "object/draft_schematic/clothing/shared_clothing_armor_padded_bicep_l.iff" , draft schematic changed to "unknown schematic"

Iv had to completely start over with my CRC table 3 times now, Iv noticed when looking at my backups the problem seems to start when the size of the "object_template_crc_string_table.iff" reaches a file size in excess of 2,119 KB

Thanks

Sorry for the late reply, I will look into it when I find some time. Appreciate the report!

It could be with the order of your .tre files?  If you have more than one, the most current crc should be listed at the top of the _live.cfg file

Only skimmed the thread but if there was an issue in actually building the CRC tables it should be resolved in the new SIE release.
