There is an issue, already fixed in the next release.

You're going down a path I can't follow.

If only I could help to speed this along but I have no skills and am powerless without your guys great tools :(

Say Halyn, you mentioned something in the OP about info for clipping. Is there a guide or anything to what you need/how to fix that? That's one of the things I'd love to learn.

No. Clipping is kinda a fact of life with something like this - just like it is in vanilla SWG. (See also: long hair females/Twi'leks clipping with clothing)

i cant get this working i follow ur installation guide. nothing happens in game.
Are you updating the files in a server you're running or just on a client?
If it's on your server did you rebuild your server?

If you don't see the new races on your client, at the very least you haven't added the TRE to your load order. Even if your server isn't configured right, you should see the races available at character creation.

I should probably ask this somewhere else. But I'm trying to find the file on my server called races.h. Is there a search function in Debian?

I went overkill on my CRC entries when I initially set it up; I'm not sure if /all/ of them are necessary, but I did it basically to ensure the new species mirrored the old ones exactly.

So, as an example for Aqualish, they have entries at:

object/creature/player/aqualish.iff
object/creature/player/aqualish_female.iff
object/creature/player/aqualish_male.iff
object/creature/player/shared_aqualish_female.iff
object/creature/player/shared_aqualish_male.iff

So for a two-gender race, I have five entries in CRC. For a single-gender, I have three (using Devaronians as an example):

object/creature/player/devaronian.iff
object/creature/player/devaronian_male.iff
object/creature/player/shared_devaronian_male.iff

It's possible one or more entries is extraneous. I simply modeled off the preexisting races.
What's the crc file that I insert this information into? Does this have something to do with the skills.iff datatable?

If you're starting fresh and haven't added any of your own content to the server, you don't have to touch the CRC file. (It's in the "misc" folder in your TREs.)

Skills.iff is necessary to add species bonuses; it's /not/ necessary for just enabling the species, though certain things won't work if you don't. If you look through that datatable, you'll see the old species each have their own entry; copy one and work from that to add new races.

I don't particularly understand what I'm doing wrong.
1. Put species.tre in SWGEmu folder on my Debian Virtual Box Desktop. Then I placed the same species.tre file in my SWGEmu client outside the virtual box.
2. I replaced the existing Races.h file.
3. I replaced PlayerCreationManager.cpp and ImageDesignManager.cpp
4. I put all the necessary Lua's in /MMOCoreORB/bin/scripts/object/creature/player/
And replaced the files in /MMOCoreORB/bin/scripts/object/creature/player/base

Did I miss a step or do something wrong? None of the species show up when I login to character creation.

Edit: All I want to do is be able to create the character and login. I'm wanting to make a basic video tutorial on how to install the species. Just for future reference and because it might be helpful to someone else.

You need to add the TREs to your load order.

You also need to do a build after dropping my files in.

/thumbsup

Then there's the tedious part of adding the new races to all the equippable items in the game, lol.
