It has been brought to our attention that people within MTG are wishing for support outside the scope of SWGEmu.

Mod The Galaxy only supports PreCU/CU clients and SWGEmu-based servers that abide by the AGPL. Discussion about SOE source code (and servers that run it) or NGE clients [*] is not allowed.

[*] This means using/modding the NGE client itself - talking about NGE content is fine.

I'm not sure I get this, it feels a bit selective. MTG existed for a long time for SWGEMU while SWGEMU was in development, it could even be said that SWGEMU hasn't attained full emulation since JTL isn't finished. So why can't MTG have support for NGE, something that has decent emulation through ProjectSWG?
 
Because PSWG is basically KIA or nowhere near worth talking about these days, as unfortunate as that may be.

Do you really want to push it, Seefo?

If PSWG ever becomes anything of note or someone builds an NGE emulator off Core3, this will be reconsidered.
 
Nope, that's completely fine, support for making post CU work in PreCU is also totally okay.

The core thing that we're warding off is making anything obvious NGE related work in a non PreCU setting, because it'd be clearly for illegal src based servers.
