I installed a few mods (LOD , HD eyes, Species mod, and the jedi mod) now when I run the game I am seeing floating heads and not whole bodies, and when I am about 50 feet away I am seeing people without clothes or disappearing altogether. any idea on how to fix this without removing all the mods?

Unlikely.....

Either the mod is broken or it's installed incorrectly. Or more likely the mods are screwing with each other.

Remove them all and install one at a time and check each one as you go.

at far distances I see NPC's and players as naked and when I get close they are fine. occasionally I see a person as just a floating head but eventually they load correctly. is it a video settings problem or a mod problem?

This could very well just be a distance versus load issue. You should copy all of the files in your SWG Directory to a new folder. But only copy the /miles/ and /string/ folders with all of the files. Then re-launch the client via SwgClient_r.exe or SWGEmu.exe and see if the problem persists. This will determine if it's a mod issue or not.

Other information that would be helpful for us to know: What mods have you downloaded? What is in the /appearance folder of your client? Did you download or patch any Emulator files that are not directly SWGEmu's? (Like Bloodfin or another community server).

I installed the following mods:
1st - Species Revamp Mod
2nd - HQ Eyes
3rd - LOD Tweak
4th - Species Swap Mod
5th - My Dantooine 2.0
6th - Jedi Mod from beta forums

I'm not 100% sure of your directions above but I will try

I removed all the mod files and did a full scan from the EMU launcher. it fixed everything back to how it was from fresh install but I want to install the mods still.

First of all...with the client back to a fresh install do you get any problems??

If not....

Install the mods one at a time and then start the client to check if it worked ok. If it did then install the next one and check again.

I haven't installed any of the mods you mention but looks like they may conflict as three of them at least mod bodies and such.

I had no issues after fresh install. Going through them now to see where the problem was. can you recommend any mods that improve the game visually?

To the issue at hand, most likely the species revamp and/or species swap mod causing the issue. Potentially LOD Tweak as well since people are disappearing at X distance.

The main issue is about which meshes are set to hidden when certain pieces of clothing is equipped, I can't remember which file format controls this but its definitely a clash

I'd do

  1. LOD Tweak
  2. HQ Eyes
  3. Species Revamp Mod
Skip the swap one the others wont conflict anyway, I don't think so at least.

As Uli said, the Swap will be the likeliest candidate for problems. LOD might be conflicting as it has files for all models, so I'd install that one first regardless. I just saw you got the install order from the HQ eyes mod, so I assume it was made with the idea in mind that the others would be installed, too, if so, then I'd do:

  1. LOD Tweak
  2. Species Revamp Mod
  3. HQ Eyes

You could try this tool I made. It should help you to spot the problem while allowing you to enable/disable mods one by one whenever you desire. Follow those steps:
1) pack every mod in a different .tre file
2) load them all in the order you would have installed them (click order in the tool)
3) lookup for collisions in the 'asset listing' tab (overlaps in the tool)
-> if there are no collisions, then you know it's not a collision, a step forward but still not resolved.
-> if there are collisions, you will have to resolve them by editing the files. In this case you could use SIE or TRE Explorer.
4) once it's solved, pack all edited mod again
5) change the .cfg file that load the .tre files and add the .tre files of the mods.

If you encounter any problem while using my tool please let me know the details.
