I am working on retexturing the planetary maps of SWG. I always wanted some more detailed maps for SWG, i know my way around photoshop well, so i decided to go for a satelitte view of the maps, similar to original maps, but with a lot more detail. I considered the fantasy map style, but i think this is the best way to do it. I have never made maps before, so this is a new challenge for me. I am however up for the challenge.

If you want to keep track of the project i suggest you check in on the SWGCanon Client mods section, it is here i will update most frequent and beta versions for each map will be availible for download. Thread on there will also show progress and comparison pictures for each map. Reason i am not posting all updates here, is that these forums does not have the same formatting features.

Sometimes, you really have to stop and think about why they made the maps so inaccurate and indistinct...

Thank you for the beta. :)
I don't play much, but new mods make the experience that much better.

They look great, definitely something I would like to have on my client :)

Might want to hit up Sytner for his overhead satellite renders of the trn's for a more accurate base for your textures... But they do look nice already.

Looking pretty good - I've attached the high resolution versions of the renders Valkyra mentioned in case they help you make it more true to the actual terrain.

Is there a tool (perhaps from the Gods Sytner or Timbab?) that will allow us to point to a new planet's TRN file and have the overhead satellite map created?

I think there is some misunderstanding going on here, I too frankly am unsure what you mean Aeryna. :D

Which NGE versions?

If you're talking about the maps, they were generated by his SWB tool.
