TRE Explorer Not Working - Windows 8

If someone could please help me with this, I'd really appreciate it.

When I try using TRE Explorer on Windows 8, I get a Microsoft .NET Framework error. It didn't do this on my old operating system (Vista).

It says, "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediate.y"

Then it showed the details below.

Network 4.5 is installed with the operating system.

Looks like the problem fixed itself when I reinstalled some drivers on my new laptop. Thanks anyhow!

You probably don't check this forum anymore, so I'm putting this out there in case anyone can help. My tre explorer seems to have broken overnight. I'm assuming a windows update did it. I have the same thing, it crashes with a .net framework error message. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I managed to get tre explorer to partially work (if you click "continue" in the error message), but half of it doesnt work. I especially need the built in hex editor, which wont open because of the .net error.

Really? That's odd.

I have Windows 8, fully updated and just checked again if the hex editor works, and everything is working as it should.

Are you on 8.1? Try running it as admin?

Do you have the one Uli updated or the old slow one?

Edit: Hmm, in my update history there is a Microsoft .NET 3.5 and 4.5 update pending restart, I sure hope it doesn't screw me over.

Try going into Windows Update > Update History > Installed Updates (at the top) and then remove these:

KB2861704 (These are the .NET 3.5)
KB2863243
KB2861194

KB2861702 (This one is the .NET 4.5)

Those are the only ones that haven't fully updated on my machine yet, no idea if those are the culprit, let me know!
