hey all!

been a few years lol.

im curious if anyone ever managed to convert the terrain files into an editable format like 3ds?

i hope everyones doing well.

What do you need/what do you want to do exactly? The answer will depend on that I think :)

Hey, yes good to see an old face! :)

If that's what you need it's definitely possible. Currently you could do something crude, e.g:

- Take the heightmaps from: https://modthegalaxy.com/index.php?threads/cities-skylines.381/
- And use my satellite maps as albedo maps: https://modthegalaxy.com/index.php?resources/sytners-satellite-maps.7/

I'm sure most 3D software can create a textured mesh from the two. It will be pretty low-res though - to do this properly you'd need lots of little meshes with blendmaps generated using the SWG textures. I can make an export feature for that eventually perhaps.

ill try it using those maps before i ask you for that kind of work.

im going to use them in unreal and see if i can smooth them out a little and use realistic textures on them.
