Yeah but there are ways to make something look dark and somber but still make it look good.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, that screen of LPE2 looks AMAZING, how close is it to release?

Yeah the default design is nice. Not any time soon, it's a sub project at best. Most likely to be kept back until closer to the 1.0 release, or just prior to it.

Its the angle damn it. In addition clearly anime characters have more flexible joints than us normal folk. :p

I still like Purple Dant more better, it gives it a certain mystique, where as the wheat colored Dant just makes it look like harvest time.

BTW, is it possible to play with alpha transparency's in the in-world textures to give them sort of a ghostly look?

To a degree yes, but in terms of a "ghostly look" you probably wont be satisfied lol. You'll need to have a mess with alphas and shader effects to find the look your imagining.

Yes, although its difficult to get a look you're happy with. I've already experimented with glowie/transparent flora.

I like that den of yours Ton, but a lair would've been so much better. :p

Shaders effects are the winrar, you can make stuff invisible, transparent, glowy, metallic, plastic, brilliant, chrome and dark chrome and a lot more that I couldn't test because of my laziness.

I remember having fun with the chrome/metallic reflection effect a couple years ago, basically I had made my toon look like Iron Man in MKII suit lol, lovely.


I should dig out my super fake bloom mod I had a while back, it might be worth something, it used to make pretty much everything with a "light source" smooth glowy without the need to enable Bloom (so you can keep AA), though activating Bloom would make every light source a hundred times more glowy than before basically you'd get an instant seizure just by looking at the light.

Mhmm. I have too much stuff to put up really, or the page will just take forever to load. Still optimizing the site in various ways though. When I get around to finishing that up every element should load up at least 10% faster.

In other news things are coming along, slowly, but surely. I'm pretty happy with the overall state of Dantooine now, although I'll revisit it once other stuff is done for some final polishing.

Next time I'm in the mood I think I'll be starting on Tatooine, or continuing the small amount of work I had already done if I still have it. ;) If I recall correctly the majority of environment related stuff for Tatooine (sky, etc) I think I've already done, so its just actually fixing up the terrain and textures for the most part, which for the likes of Tatooine won't take anywhere near as long as Dantooine did in that regard.

One thing I haven't put on the original features list is weather. I know there aren't many weather effects in the game to begin with, but I do plan on sprucing those up a bit, starting with sandstorms. This will include better SFX as well. The original direction of the project has definitely changed since I came back to it, but for the better I hope.

As always, anyone who wants to join the project is more than welcome and it only helps to speed things along. :)

Updated the original post and features list to reflect the changes I've made to the project. I also added a screenshot of Tatooine's current sky, with a light gust of sand blowing overhead to my den.
